The house looked different in the evening light.

The same walls.

The same table.

But this time, nothing felt missing.

Something was missing.

And that absence only gained meaning once it was noticed.

Theo opened the cupboard.

"There's nothing," he said.

Rain stepped closer.

Looked inside.

There really wasn't much.

They stayed silent for a moment.

Then Theo gave a small laugh.

"So our ideal meal plan is cancelled?"

Rain shook his head.

"Not cancelled."

He paused.

"Postponed."

Theo looked at him.

"That's a good word."

Rain turned toward the table.

Took the small pouch Evelynne had left.

Opened it.

Looked at the money inside.

"We can buy things."

Theo raised an eyebrow.

"That doesn't feel like permission."

Rain lowered his head slightly.

"We didn't ask for permission anyway."

A short silence followed.

Then Theo shrugged.

"Fair."

And they went outside.

This return to the bazaar felt different.

Without urgency.

There was a goal.

But no pressure.

The streets were the same.

But the light had changed.

Softer.

Warmer.

They walked between the stalls.

Theo looked around.

"What exactly are we looking for?"

Rain answered.

"Real food."

Theo laughed.

"Very ambitious today."

Rain didn't stop walking.

"I want good food."

Theo paused for a moment.

Then nodded.

"Alright."

They wandered for half an hour.

Spices.

Vegetables.

Meat.

Simple things.

But choosing wasn't hard.

What was hard… was deciding.

Rain stopped at a stall.

Looked at a vegetable.

"This is good."

Theo picked it up.

"This too."

At another stall, Theo paused.

"I remember this," he said.

Rain looked.

"What?"

"I ate it once."

Rain nodded.

"Take it."

Small bags started filling.

The return trip was quieter.

But the silence wasn't empty.

Something was being carried.

When the door closed at home, the air shifted.

This time the house felt fuller.

Theo placed the bags on the table.

"Alright," he said.

"Chef time."

Rain looked at him.

"Who's the chef?"

Theo thought for a moment.

"Me."

Rain shook his head.

"No."

Theo laughed.

"Both of us."

The kitchen was a small space.

But enough.

First, the vegetables were washed.

The sound of running water filled the room.

Rain picked up a knife.

Looked at it for a moment.

"Am I doing this right?"

Theo looked at him.

"I'm worse at it than you."

Rain considered that sentence.

Then began.

The cuts were slow.

Not perfect.

But careful.

Theo adjusted the fire.

Put a pot on.

"This part's mine," he said.

Ingredients were added.

Spices opened.

A smell slowly spread.

At first it was strange.

Then familiar.

Rain stirred.

Theo watched.

"You know," he said.

Rain didn't look up.

"What?"

"I never imagined this like this."

Rain stopped.

"When?"

"Ever."

Rain tilted his head slightly.

"Me neither."

As the food cooked, the house changed.

From silence to fullness.

From emptiness to life.

Finally, Theo closed the pot.

"It's done," he said.

Rain looked.

"Are you sure?"

Theo raised his eyebrows.

"No."

But he smiled.

The food was placed on the table.

Steam rose.

Simple.

But real.

Theo took the first bite.

Chewed slowly.

Then looked up.

"This… is good."

Rain tried it.

Paused for a moment.

Then:

"Yes."

They ate in silence for a while.

But this silence was comfortable.

Then Theo spoke.

"When I was a kid…"

He paused.

Rain looked at him.

Theo continued.

"I once burned a meal."

Rain raised an eyebrow.

"What did you do?"

"I didn't tell anyone."

Rain gave a small laugh.

"Clearly."

Theo smiled.

"You?"

Rain thought.

A long moment.

Then:

"Not much I remember."

He paused.

"There was a house."

"It was crowded."

"I think I was always outside."

Theo listened.

Didn't interrupt.

Rain continued.

"It rained sometimes."

A short silence.

Theo nodded.

"So your name fits then."

Rain looked at him.

"What?"

Theo shrugged.

"You."

Rain stayed quiet for a long moment.

Then:

"Maybe."

The meal slowly ended.

The plates emptied.

But the air stayed full.

They sat at the table.

Not getting up.

Theo leaned back.

"Today was good," he said.

Rain nodded.

"Yes."

Outside, night was approaching, and the house remained the same.

But it was no longer empty.

And that difference didn't need to be spoken.

The night passed in silence.

This time, the silence was not heavy.

Nor was it empty.

It simply… was.

The house felt as if it was breathing.

Moonlight slipping through the window slowly spread across the floor.

Rain stayed in sleep for the first time without resistance.

Theo did as well.

Nothing pulled them.

Nothing pushed them.

There was only sleep.

And that sleep… was deep.

In the morning, light first touched the curtain.

Then spread into the room.

Slowly.

Without force.

When Rain opened his eyes, the first thing he felt was silence.

But this time it was different.

Familiar.

There was movement beside him.

Theo.

He was sitting up.

But not asleep.

His hair was slightly messy.

And in his hands, a small section of hair.

Rain just watched for a while.

Theo was carefully separating a small strand from the front of his hair, weaving it with his fingers.

He controlled even his breathing, as if trying not to make a mistake.

Rain didn't blink.

For a long time.

Then he spoke.

"You're paying a lot of attention to what you're doing."

Theo flinched.

Stopped for a moment.

Then turned his head.

"You're awake."

Rain sat up.

"For a while."

Theo released the strand of hair.

"I hope I didn't mess it up."

Rain touched his hair.

Felt the small braid.

"No."

A short silence followed.

Theo yawned.

"I couldn't sleep much."

Rain looked at him.

"Why?"

Theo shrugged.

"No reason."

But there was.

They both knew it.

He didn't ask.

Rain got out of bed.

"I'm hungry."

Theo gave a faint laugh.

"That's a good start."

They went to the kitchen together.

Breakfast was simple.

But this time more orderly.

Rain was smiling as he set the table.

More than usual.

Lighter.

Theo watched him.

"Why are you so cheerful today?" he said.

Rain paused.

"Am I cheerful?"

Theo nodded.

"Yes."

Rain thought for a moment.

Then shrugged.

"I don't know."

And smiled.

"It just feels like that."

Theo tilted his head.

"Dangerous."

Rain raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"Unusual."

Rain laughed.

"You didn't sleep much either."

Theo accepted it.

"True."

They ate breakfast.

Sitting down.

It was different from previous days.

Lighter.

More normal.

And that "normal" no longer felt unfamiliar.

After eating, Theo stood up.

"I'm going outside for a bit."

Rain nodded.

"I'll stay."

Theo headed for the door.

"Be careful."

Rain looked at him.

"You too."

The door closed.

Rain stayed in the house.

For a while, he did nothing.

Then he stood up.

Slowly.

As if there was no rush.

He stood in the room.

And closed his eyes.

Took a deep breath.

For the first time, he consciously tried to feel what was inside him.

Mana.

But he didn't force it.

He simply listened.

After a while… it changed.

Not the air.

Not the world.

But the feeling inside.

There was a flow.

Not circling around itself.

Just existing.

Rain raised his hands.

Opened his fingers slightly.

And a small light flickered.

It was weak.

But real.

He inhaled.

"Slow," he said to himself.

And let it go.

Again.

This time, a little clearer.

Like a line.

Still fragile.

Outside, Theo was in a different place.

An open area.

No one was there.

It was quiet.

He closed his eyes.

And thought of his own space.

Not as a boundary.

Not as emptiness.

But as a "place."

At first, nothing happened.

Then… the world changed.

The ground didn't disappear.

But it transformed.

A flat surface like water formed.

Endless.

Yet walkable.

His feet did not sink.

The sky opened above.

A vivid blue.

Clean.

Deep.

Theo took a step.

The water did not ripple.

It only responded in feeling.

"Is this real?" he said to himself.

Then didn't answer.

He took another step.

And the space expanded.

There was no visible boundary.

Only an ongoing surface.

He looked up at the sky.

And thought.

The color shifted.

Blue deepened.

Then lightened.

Then deepened again.

As if the world was reacting to his thoughts.

Theo breathed.

"Longer…"

he said.

"More stable…"

The space expanded.

No end in sight.

No felt limit.

Only continuation.

Theo walked.

And kept walking on the surface of water.

The sky changed with his thoughts.

And the world…

stretched along with him.
